Jam advised on a Sustainability Strategy for Worcester Parkway, a proposed new settlement located to the south east of Worcester comprising c.10,000 homes and up to 10,000 jobs. 

The vision for Worcester Parkway is to create a thriving settlement with: 

• a new town centre 

• healthy place-making principles 

• new employment opportunities 

• an active travel network 

• social + recreational infrastructure 

• open space provision.

 

The strategy provided an important function in establishing a cohesive strategy for a truly sustainable development, as well as providing a robust evidence base to support the site allocation in the Local Plan and future planning applications.  A sustainable development framework was created to establish the strategic issues to be addressed, including:

• the policy context 

• site analysis 

• identification of key issues 

• constraints + opportunities 

• options appraisal.
